The Governor called on the youth to take advantage of the Jos carnival to develop their creative talents and convert it into opportunities for self-employment and be important for the community.
Lalong disclosed this at the end of the Jos Carnival procession which began with a 5 km walk led the Governor and the commissioner for information and communication, Hon Yakubu Dati.
According to Lalong, the goal of the administration is to reduce human sufferings by uplifting the quality of life of vast majority of the people.
The Governor said; “Ours is a promise to create opportunities not just for those with the money and influence, but for every Plateau citizen who desires to lead a meaningful and productive life”
Earlier in her welcome address, the Commissioner of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Tawmakat Weli said the peaceful atmosphere created by the Rescue administration has attracted participants and tourists from within and outside the country.
She applauded improvements made by the organisers and promised that next year will witness tremendous improvements.
The Carnival featured cultural displays, group choreography and spectacular displays by youths, the carnival reached its climax with the arrival of Governor Lalong which was followed by a colourful convoy of Bikers who displayed their skills.
The event was rounded up with a grand performance by international artiste, ICE Prine Zamani to the delight of fans at the Jos township stadium, venue of the event.
The Jos Carnival which started 2 years ago has gained traction as a major event on the tourism calendar of the State.
