Jigawa State Facing Shortage of Power Supply

Muhammad-Abubakar-BadaruJigawa state government is facing shortage of electric power in the state a situation that has forced the State government to spend over one hundred million naira every month on the purchased of diesel to power of street light in the state capital.

The state governor Alhaji Badaru Abubakar disclosed this in an interactive session with Journalists in the state.

The governor stated that his government based has reduced the cost of unnecessary expenditure and radical spending of over head on ministries and parastatals through discussion with permanent secretary.

He also confirmed that his administration has no plan to retrench  workers in the State but his plan is to ensure that all civil servant must ensure justification to what they are earning monthly.

Explaining further he said that the  having deficiency in the health sector even as he said that his government has entered into agreement with galaxy backbone in Jigawa to revive the abandoned galaxy project established by the past administration of governor Saminu Turaki.

According to him he said, his government has done a lot to galaxy Internet Company in Abuja to return. The glory of the Jigawa project was abandoned by the Lamido administration and he even planned to sell the Jigawa property.

The Governor stated that modern equipment for the fully take off of Jigawa galaxy company will soon be supplied to the company in the state to enable them provide the network service to people, industries and Banks.

Badaru also stated that Jigawa state government has entered  into an agreement with the Korean government to redeploy doctors to save the state hospital which is lacking professional medical personnel and midwives in the state.

According to the State Government he said that the hospital is in need of total overhauling and as well as additional hospitals will be constructed across the 282 political wards in the state in an effort to bring the health sector close to the people.
