Jigawa Pension Fund Orders Arrest Of Touts Collecting Charges For Renewal Of Pension Pass Book

The Executive Secretary Jigawa State Contributing  Pension Funds  Comrade Suleiman Adamu Kiyawa has directed the  beneficiaries of pension, gratuity and death benefits  to as a matter of urgency report anybody who seek  bribe or gratifications from any one of them  who wants to  renew his or her pass book of the contribution.

He gave the directive yesterday   while briefing newsmen about the new tactics being applied by some few disgruntled elements who are bent on cheating beneficiaries of retirement benefits, monthly pension, or death benefits who either want to renew their pass book in case of lost or filled up under the guise that they will them to secure the new ones in an easy way.

’Let me inform the teeming staff of pension House , we  have representative outside, we reside here in the pension house  without no annex and have no touts,  because , I learnt that some bad eggs  came with new system of cheating  pensioners , so henceforth,  let me warn that any body found demanding money from anybody , he or she should quickly  report him to the authorities concern for arrest and prosecution , change of pass book is free of charge , we don’t charge a single kobo,’’ he pointed out.

He said that they collect fees from people or organizations that carelessly lost or mutilated their cards, because the Funds will not condone any act of destruction of their property.

Comrade Adamu Kiyawa disclosed that the Funds has paid a total of N435, 673, 367.45 million for the Mouths  of  April/May pension , death benefits  and refunds  of  eight percent to  348 beneficiaries and   those who has not reached five years  contributing.

According to the Executive Secretary,  the payments were divided into four categories, namely, retirement or terminal, 218, who were paid N673,146,81 million, death as 86 beneficiaries were paid  the sum of N129,169,767,96 million, while the third category  were those who retired but did not reached  five years in their contribution, eight of them collected the sum of N273, 525, 59,66 million and the fourth category was refund of N1 491,893 million to eight people.

Comrade Kiyawa used the occasion to congratulate and appreciate the efforts of governor   Muhammad Badaru Abubakr for his untiring and timely release of the retirement benefits  every moths  as sell as board of trustee  for their guidance and members of the press for publicizing their activities.
