Jigawa PDP Chairman, 5 Commissioners Remanded

Jigawa police command has arrested the PDP  Chairman who was a commissioner under former Governor Sule Lamido’s administration, also arrested were five other commissioners who served under Sule Lamido, they were also arraigned before a chief magistrate court in Dutse yesterday.

Police charged the suspect for criminal conspiracy and breach of trust which is contrary to section 96, 308,287 of the Jigawa state penal code law.

Those arrested and paraded before the judge include the present chairman of the party Salidu Mamuda Kuit who was the former commissioner for local government and a onetime commissioner of water, he was charged together with Shehu Umar Chamo whom was also the former commissioner for local government, also arrested was a former chairman of Kiri Kasamma local government Alhaji Abba Muhammed Daguro.

Salisu Sale Indirawa Mutari Gonga and Nasiru Umar Roni were charged for criminal conspiracy and breach of trust with disobedience to law with cause of injuries to public and theft which is contrary to section 97,317,123/A and section 287 of the Jigawa state penal code law.

As learnt by this medium the police were directed by the Jigawa state government to arrest as they alleged that the six persons looted the government treasury during the last administration of former Governor Lamido.

All effort to release the six  PDP stakeholders was not successful due to the nature of their cases,  the presiding judge Malam Usman Muhammed Lamin remanded the chairman of the party and five others commissioner at Kiyawa Prison where Sule Lamido was detained early this month and case adjourned to  25/5/2017.
