Jigawa Ex Government Officials To Return 301 Vehicles, Ex-Commissioners On The Run

sule-lamidoInformation available to this medium indicates that former Jigawa state governor Sule Lamido has promised to return funds amounting to N19billion which was allegedly siphoned during his administration in the name of SURE-P and Airport construction.

Sources closed to government house said Lamido who recently apprehended by EFCC security was made to sign an agreement that he will return the sum of N19billion money  siphoned from the Jigawa State treasury when he was the governor of the state in the last 7years of his administration.

According to investigation carried out by our reporter in Dutse, the state capital, it was gathered that over 301 government official vehicles were stolen by ex-government officials and pressure is mounted on the ex government officials to return the vehicles before EFCC swoops on them.

Sources said the past Speaker of the state who has been in the hospital for an accident is now set to return 20 government official cars which was allegedly misused under his office as well as others which were used for political campaign.

Also the former deputy governor Alhaji Ahmed Mahamoud is being also forced to return 40 cars which were alleged that most of the vehicles has been missing,  a situation which has put the former deputy governor in panic.

According to security report commissioners and special advisers’ are set to return government vehicles, as it this medium gathered that some of the ex official have run out of the state due to fear of EFCC arrest and it was reliably gathered that some of them has sold their vehicles to some business men in Kano.

However, according to investigation the present Jigawa state government is not seriously concern about the matter especially on the issue of returning monies stolen by ex-government officials and government properties stolen.

Some persons in the state are  accusing the governor, Badaru for his snail speed approach  in taking action and appointment of key government officials in the state, as they also accuse the governor of  not properly settled in the state to take charge of his administration.
