IPAC Nasarawa State Chapter Dissociates Self From Forum Participating In Council Election
Inter-Party Advisory Council, Nasarawa State Chapter has dissociated itself from the recent media report aired by the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service.
IPAC Opposed The Nominations Of Chairman Of The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission Headed By Henry Omaku.
This was contained in a communiqué at the end of IPAC meeting held at Ikpeku Palace Lodge, Opposite College of Agriculture, Lafia.
The political parties that rejected the nomination of the chairman of the electoral umpire and Commissioners are the State chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Hon.Francis Orogu,the chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Hon.Musa Saidu.
Other chairmen of political parties are Umar Abdullahi of the Labour Party ,Bar.Haruna Ilyasu of the Independent Democrat, Adamu Yakubu Kana of the PPN, Taofeek Ismail of the DCP, Hon.Danlami Musa of SDP and Hon.Irmiya Salihu of RBNP respectively.
“After exhaustive deliberation by the chairman and Representatives of the registered political parties in Nasarawa State on the planned Local Government elections, the meeting came up with the following resolutions.
Political Parties rejected in totality the nomination of chairman and Commissioners of NASIEC.
The Inter-Party Advisory Council hinted that all the appointees are card carrying members of the ruling party in the State and should not be screen for the interest of the State.
The Council also reminded the Commission to do the needful by taking note of the mandatory 90 days’ notice required by the law in order not to embark on an exercise in futility.
“The N500, 000 for chairmanship contestants and N200,000 for Councillorship is not only outrageous or insensitive but totally unacceptable.
