A youth  under the auspices of concerned citizen wrote an open letter   over the insecurity in Wase and Kanam Local Government Councils of Plateau State .

Comrade Adam Usman has raised serious alarm over  worsening security crisis, warning that the two local governments are  drifting dangerously into a state of anarchy as citizens continue to pay the price for the government’s failure to act decisively.

In an urgent call for equal opportunity ,justice and protection in Plateau State to Governor Caleb Mutfwang ,Comrade Adam Usman , described the ongoing killings in   Plateau state, alongside emerging terror-linked groups to vigilantes bandits, as a coordinated assault on our rural farmers as condemnable act .

He  outrightly rejected the security summit proposed by the National Assembly, dismissing it as a repetitive and ineffective measure that has never produced meaningful results.

“We have no confidence whatsoever in wase and kanam lgas when the lives and properties of the people are affected. It will amount to another round of talk shows and hollow communiqués.

Comrade Adam  warned that Plateau state is bleeding especially Muslims communities in Wase and Kanam  that those entrusted with protecting lives and property appear more concerned with political maneuvering than confronting the security challenges.

“Adam disclosed that Plateau  is bleeding while our leaders chase shadows. Every week, the country is plunged into fresh chaos, and all we get are recycled press statements and condolence messages,”

Your Excellency,

The Executive Governor of Plateau State,

My name is Comrade Adam Usman, a concerned and peace-loving indigene of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

I write to you today with deep concern, on behalf of the voiceless and marginalized people in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas—especially the Muslim communities—who have continued to endure severe neglect and insecurity under your leadership.

Your Excellency, you were elected to serve all the people of Plateau State, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or local government area.

We voted for you with hope and belief in your promise to deliver justice, equity, and development to every citizens of our dear state.

However, the ongoing events have led us to question whether this administration sees all lives as equal.

Since the beginning of the banditry crisis in Wase and Kanam LGAs, we have lost hundreds of innocent lives. In Wase LGA alone, over 208 people have been killed, and 12 to 20 villages destroyed.

In Kanam LGA, more than 300 to 400 lives have been lost, including the 70 vigilantes killed in Kukawa. Entire communities have been displaced, homes burned, and livelihoods destroyed—yet your silence is deafening.

No committee has been sent. No visit. No condolence. No support.

Your Excellency, contrast this with your swift response to the recent unfortunate incident in Riyom Local Government. Within two days of the crisis there, you visited and offered support—because the victims were predominantly Christians. But are the Muslims in Wase and Kanam not also your people? Are we not citizens of Plateau State? Our communities are not animal settlements, they are homes to human beings—Nigerians who deserve dignity, justice, and protection.

This biased approach to governance is painful, unjust, and unacceptable. We are calling on you as our Governor, the father of all Plateau citizens, to remember your oath to serve everyone equally. We demand urgent intervention in Wase and Kanam. Visit our people, set up a fact-finding and support committee, and take action to bring an end to the killings.

We want peace, but peace cannot exist without justice and fairness. We want unity, but unity cannot thrive in an environment of exclusion. This is your first tenure, and we pray for you to succeed. But should this pattern of discrimination and neglect continue, we will use our votes and voices in the future to remind you that Plateau State does not belong to Christians alone—it belongs to all of us.

Enough is enough.

I write this not out of anger, but out of love for my state and out of the pain of what my people are going through. I come in peace and hope you will act in justice.
