Inauguration Of TCC Members: Ihedioha Charge Appointees To Duties Of 6 Weeks

The Imo Governor-Elect, Rt.Hon.Emeka Nkem Ihedioha, on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 in Owerri, officially inaugurated members of his Transition Technical Committee, who would help and assist him to liaise with all the govt. officeholders in the outgoing govt. of Governor Rochas Okorocha, within 6 weeks and before the official handover/swearing-in ceremony, come May 29th, 2019.

 

The successful inauguration ceremony which took place amidst peaceful atmosphere with some of those appointed eminently present attracted top trusted and tested Imo sons and daughters from across various political affiliations, business classes, university dons, captains of industries, technocrats, academicians and top political juggernauts, including some renowned philanthropists, who are from Imo State.

 

In his words, an elder statesman, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, aka “Ahaejiagamba of Igbo land”, expressed delight for the kind of persons involved to serve the state as members of TTC under the leadership of the Imo GovElect, Ihedioha.

 

Chief Iwuanyanwu, therefore described Rt.Hon.Ihedioha as a good man, hardworking, dedicated to service, tested, trusted and passionate to offer all-inclusive governance for the unity, development, and progress of the state.

 

“With Ihedioha as Imo Governor, my life has been added for many more years. Hunger will not kill the people of the state. Youths must be gainfully employed, empowered and meaningfully engaged. Salaries of workers, arrears of pensioners, quality education, good roads, quality infrastructures would be seen in the govt. of Rebuild Imo Mission”, Iwuanyanwu submitted.

 

Chief Ahaejiagamba, who is also the State Chairman of Imo State Elders Council, furthermore expressed optimism that the govt. of Dr.Ihedioha will sure wipe away tears from the eyes the Imo people, even as he called on Imolites, especially those at home and diaspora to support and encourage the Rebuild Imo Mission to succeed.

 

In words, the Transition Technical Committee Chairman, Dr.Ernest Ebi, on behalf of all the members of the committee thanked and commended Chief Ihedioha for the confidence.

 

“It is a new dawn in Imo. I know we will deliver on the objectives of the TTC. We shall fight positively to ensure the smooth handover with the outgoing Imo Govt. We shall ensure a peaceful transitional govt.”,Ebi assured.

Dr.Ebi thanked Chief Ihedioha for giving him and all the Committee Members the opportunity to serve Imolites, and promised to offer the best.

 

The TTC Chairman, therefore, called on Imolites to give them( all the members of the committed) their collective support, stated that the committee under his watch must succeed.

 

Dr.Ebi described the inauguration ceremony as the best day for the people of Imo State.

 

To Emeka Ihedioha, he said,” Your great day has come, be careful, embrace God and anchor on the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct your visions to pilot the affairs of the state as Governor.

 

“We shall help you rebuild our state. A lot of challenges are waiting for you. You have made the first step of successful administration. Imo shall arise. We would set up an enclave economy. We will make sacrifices for the development of the state”, TTC Chairman disclosed.

 

 

Adding his voice, the former Imo Chief Judge, Justice Paul Onumajuru, also expressed optimism that the leadership of Ihedioha would make Imolites to rejoice.

 

He said ” today is a great day. Now that you, Ihedioha has started work, we shall work with you. You are not sectional. You have shown that you are not going to carry Imo people along. Your struggle did not start now. You have started well and as such you are going to achieve successes”.

 

Meanwhile, the Imo Governor-Elect,Rt.Hon.Emeka Nkem Ihedioha, speaking, expressed gratitude to see Imolites who trooped out en masse to witness the ceremony.

 

“We have gotten back our state. Many good things are on the state”, Ihedioha stated.

 

The GovElect recalled that the Planning Committee earlier missed out the Sub Committee on Health Sector, but assured that it would be fixed in no distant time.

 

 

“Though we are in a learning process and we must endeavor to fix Imo”, Chief Ihedioha asserted.

 

“On 9th March 2019, when Imolites elected me as governor-elect. I promised good governance during my campaigns.

The committee will help us rebuild Imo State. Thank you for answering our call for your appointment. None lobbed me to be part of the committee”, he said.

 

“We are gender friendly. I have visions to rebuild Imo with teamwork with accomplished men and women from a different professional background. The task is to bring life to the manifestos”, he noted.

 

“As you have chosen and inaugurated to serve, you only six weeks to work. Critical assignments have been given to you on a very tight schedule. We are motivated and determined to make positive legacies such as transparency and accountability to rebuild Imo State. You must ensure that the activities towards the May 29th, 2019 official swearing-in”, Ihedioha stated.
