IMSU Alumni Association Officially Inaugurates 5th NEC, As President Akano Pledges Support For Alma Mater

As part of their efforts to continue to remain peaceful, focused and united as a body, the leadership and authority of the Imo State University Alumni Association, IMSU Alumni Owerri, was on Thursday Dec.27th 2018 in Owerri, successfully inaugurated her 5th National Executive Council,NEC,with Prince Ferdinand Ezeala Akano succeeding Mr.Enyioha Chris A.E Anyanwu,as the National President for the two years tenure.

Inaugurating the new executive members of the Alumni,the Chairman of the Occasion,Barr Kenneth Udeze Obidiche,ably represented by Barr.Okwy Ukaga,who is the Alumni  BOT Secretary in her words charged them to always strive positively,uphold work hard to respect the laws of the Alumni to achieve more success, expressing excitement over the success of the alumni and believes that with them being united, more gold would be gained, spurring members for selfless service.

Handing over the Alumni documents to the new President, outgoing President,Chief Enyioha Chris Anyanwu, urged him to work cordially with the entire exco to advance the association, saying membership would be driven via rationality, efficiency and sincerity.

Thanking God for strengthening the alumni association, as well as prospering her, the newly sworn-in National President of IMSU Alumni Association, Prince Ferdinand Ezeala Akano, assured of their sterling performance to sustain the association, appealing for the continued support of the alumni who he assessed as being brothers keeper.

President Akano reminded that the alumni association is a “development partner and critical stakeholder in the development of Imo state through partnership with the Imo state University, Imo state government,  organized private sector , media, students, civil society organizations…the association recognizes the compelling need to identify with the dynamics of contemporary development exigencies and hence move with the tide towards developing our members’ capacities to contribute to building the society”.

Commending the IMSU Alumni Association for achieving success having come together, IMSU VC, Prof.Mrs. Adaobi Obasi, the Special Guest of Honour, ably represented by Dean of Students Affairs, Prof.Martin Nwankwo, said IMSU has concluded plans to open hostel accommodation for the students by 2019, just as ” we are going to go digital. Results and records will be transmitted digitally, for IMSU is positively changing, IMSU will open hostel for both her  male and female students, promising of IMSU’s continued support to her alumni to move forward to peace, prosperity and comfort.

The members of the alumni association says it will ever contribute to the development of its Alma Mater to help achieve their good dreams.

Many people attended the event including Hon.Eberechukwu Uneze,Chairman of AMCON, Hon.Evans Williams aka Owelle PDP and so many others were also in attendance.

Meanwhile,the National Public Relations Officer of the Alumni,Hon.Ugochukwu Lawrence Okorozoh,expressed delight and satisfaction for the successful inauguration even as he enjoined the President to leave up to expectations towards the general growth of the association and the alma-mater.

The National PRO,Okorozoh,while speaking promised to partner with newsmen so as to project and propagate all the activities of the alumni to the globe as the image maker of the association.
