Imo September Clean Up: ENTRACO Moves Higher, Assures Imolites Cleanliness

The Imo monthly Sanitation Exercise otherwise known as Clean-up Exercise that was effectively spared headed by the leadership of Environmental Transformation Commission,ENTRACO,Imo State,was on last Saturday, Sept.28th 2019,took to different dimension as piloted by the Commission’s General Manager, Hon.Alex Emeziem,with the assistance of the Imo former Governor, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim.

 

The ENTRACO Team in-charge of the Sanitation Exercise in all the Tertiary Institutions in State,ably led by the Team Leader, Engr.Justus Chuka Ukaegbu,who is the Marshall Coordinate General, Clean Environmental Ethics and Safety Nigeria, and a Member of the Imo State Sanitation Committee, who controlled the monitoring team  movement of ENTRACO,moved the train to IMSU, AIFCE,Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo,Federal Polytechnic Nekede and to the Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO,witnessed high level of compliance during the sanitation exercise in all the higher institutions in the state visited.

 

At the IMSU gate,the Chief Security Officer varsity,one Mr.Rolland,due to his alleged discourtesy altitude did not give the ENTRACO Sanitation Exercise Team the opportunity to actually go right inside the campus, just because the school management due to their inability to keep their environment clean. The crew and team confirmed untidy environment.

 

Also at Alvan Ikoku Fed.College of Education, the Chief Security Officer, CSO,Mr.Chukwuma Okori,took the team round and a very clean environment was seen.

 

The crew who moved to Ama-Hausa Market Nekede Federal Poly Axis, the Market Chairman, Abdulahi Abudulsalami,and the Taskforce Chairman, Abrahim Abdulkaduni,confessed to their inability to participate during the clean up exercise. They accused govt.of abandonment and negligence especially on the bad road leading to the area.

 

Reaching at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri, the SUG President who was ably represented by an executive member of the Student Union who pleaded anonymity said they (students) have participated on the monthly sanitation exercise.

 

Meanwhile, some residence of Nekede area those operating along the road insisted that they would not partake on the clean up exercise until the govt.fixed roads which they described as their only means of livelihoods.

 

At the Federal University of Technology Ihiagwa Owerri,the exercise was keenly interested, people and students engaged and participated, whereas at Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo,the Dean of Students Affairs, Prince Uzoma Iwuanyanwu, said the students are on vacation but few who were around took drastic actions towards ensuring effective compliance,even as he assured more seriousness on the next monthly sanitation exercise.

 

Also,the Imo Poly SUG President, Comr.Kingsley Uchenna Ohaekem,noted that those (Students) who were around participated.

 

“We are ever ready and passionate towards making our school environment the best in the state. We are indeed the most cleanliness institution and we believe that other schools in Imo State would follow emulate us. We are poised to achieving success towards Rebuilding Imo agenda of Gov.Emeka Ihedioha” Imo Poly SUG President submitted.

 

More so, the ENTRACO team leader, Engr.Justice,said the targets of his crew is to ensure adequate compliance of the whole exercises in all the Tertiary Institutions of higher learning in Imo State,as he appealed to the authorities of all the schools to support the govt.of the day to succeed.

 

He therefore commended Hon.Emeziem,Dr.Ohakim and Gov. Ihedioha for the collective initiatives to cleanliness of the state,even as he promised to install more waste bins into all the higher institutions in the state.
