Some respected group of individuals,sons and daughters of Imo State who are based outside the State was on last Sunday, Sept. 29th 2019 gathered in Owerri under the aegis of “Imo Elites In Diaspora”.
The meeting which took place at the Rockview Hotels Owerri, however recorded a huge success,as so many respected dignitaries such as business moguls,political bigwigs, traditional rulers,students from the higher institutions, religious leaders from across the 27 LGA’s of Imo State trooped out enmass to witness the programme.
The epoch making event was tagged as “Home Coming Ceremony” to support the growth, progress and development of the state through the leadership of the Rebuild Mission led administration of Governor Emeka Ihedioha.
According to the President of Imo Elites in Diaspora, Hon.Chief Nnamdi Nwofor,in his words, “We are coming home to honour our most revarred and respected elder statesman, Chief Engr.Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Ahaejiagamba 1 of Igboland,for his large heart, support, contributions in all ramifications towards the growth and development of Imo State,Igboland and in Nigeria”.
“We have unavoidably and collectively agreed unanimously to crown him with an award,honour as the Life Patron of Imo Elites in Diaspora. We love him so much. His magnanimity,kindhearted, love and care to the welfare of Ndi-Imo and Ndi-Igbo in general.Chief Iwuanyanwu is a helper of lives. His lifestyles should be emulated. He is man of honour divinely sent by God to assist and help humanity. We must always cherished him as a father”, the President submitted.
Chief Nwofor,noted that his group are passionately ready to work towards the betterment of Imo State in partnership with the Rebuild Mission Govt.of Chief Ihedioha.
” We have voters cards,we voted massively for the govt.of the day during the last Imo guber polls and victory is now. We are in over seven states of Nigeria, and we are working harder to be seen in all over the globe”,he revealed.
The President, Nwofor, therefore commended all and sundry who were in attendance, and promise to carry everyone along, even as he disclosed that the doors are widely open to receive any interested Imolites living outside the state for official registration of membership.
The successful epoch making event went through under the Distinguished Chairmanship of Prof.Fabian O.Chukwuezi,ksm,Dean of the Faculty of National and Applied Sciences, Tansian University Anambra State. He is also the Director of Fezi Medical Laboratories.
The Varsity Don,Prof.Chukwuezi,extolled the organized leadership of the Imo Elites in Diaspora for remembering home, stated that there is no better place like home.
The Professor, more so charged all the members of the group to always think positively on what they would do for Imolites,especially on job creation for the youths,even as he wished them well in all their endeavors.
Speaking earlier, the Life Patron of Imo Elites in Diaspora, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, thanked the leadership of the association for recognising him and therefore promised never to let them down.
“Now as you have made me your Life Patron, I will fight for your course. I shall never allow your association to die. You shall all grow in strength, wisdom and understanding. All the burdens shall be mine because you have chosen to work in synergy with govt.of Chief Emeka Ihedioha, to rebuild the state, you shall succeed”, Chief Iwuanyanwu prayed.
To the group, Chief Iwuanyanwu said, ” Because you have decided and chosen to come home to pursue the Igbo course, an Igbo man must be President of Nigeria before I die”.

Udoka Mgbemere,the National Woman Leader of Imo Elites in Diaspora, Chief Mrs.Uchechi Iwuala,the National Patron, Nze Justin Ikpeawunjo,and the National Vice Chairman of Imo Elites in Diaspora, Chief Chukwudi Iheanacho,who is also the Imo State Chairman of the group”. Others are:”Mr.Remijus Obilo,the PRO of Imo Elites in Diaspora, Chief Oliver Ezenwa, Mrs.Obiageri Enwere-aku,a member of the group based in Abuja,and the President of Ikeduru Students Association at the Imo State University, IMSU,Owerri, Comr.Eze Kingsley Chinedu Amaechi,who in their respective words,assured dividends of democracy to all Imo sons and daughters both home and in diaspora.
They also congratulated the Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, for his recent governorship electioneering victory at the tribunal in Abuja,even as they called on the aggrieved Imo guber candidates to allow Governor Emeka Ihedioha to focus and concentrate in his rebuild mission policy for the development of the state.
