The management and leadership of the “Center for Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics, CSAAE, in Owerri on Saturday , March 7th 2020,celebrated the 2020 Imo International Women’s Day Celebration with some cross sections of women from across the 27 LGA’s of the State.
The successes recorded was as part of upholding the standards so far established by some women in various skills acquired.
These women involved have been engaged seriously into all kinds of small scale industries, as a reputable Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO,ably led the Convener/Founder,Rev.Fr. Godswill Agbagwa,decided to encourage them.
The epoch making celebration featured:” the First Imo Women Business Linkage, Solidarity Walk with the theme:Women are not the problems rather women are the solution, fundraising to support rural Imo mompreneurs, a mother’s story;how Imo ‘bread-winners-moms’ raise their kids and awards to Imolites empowering Imo women”.
Speaking as a Special Guest and as awardee, the Imo House of Assembly Member Representing Isu State Constituency, Hon.Mrs.Ngozi Obiefule,expressed satisfaction to be present in the midst of so many women from across the state at the 2020 Women’s Day Celebration.
The lawmaker,Hon.Obiefule, while narrating her past experiences as an entrepreneur, disclosed that she made her first millions with the little sum of N300 (Three Hundred Naira) after three years in her little business while she was hawking lamps and bought her first car (Mercedes Benz) in the year 1998.
In her words of motivations/encouragement, the Isu Lawmaker, Obiefule, advised women never to relent in their respective quest/strive towards financial freedom/breakthrough as she described (women with skills) as the pillars of the society.
Hon.Obiefule, therefore,called on Imo women especially the young and talented individuals to forge ahead in breakthrough, even as she noted that days are gone when women are seen as house wives.
She more so admonished women to always be known and remembered as role models.
Obiefule,however revealed how her monthly income increased to N6m before her engagement and involvement into active political drive as a lawmaker.
