Imo Ex-Commissioner, Atulegwu Task Youths On Entrepreneurship

Nigerian youths have been enjoined to take up a skills in any field of their choices of human endeavours to enable them run away from crime,  unemployment and joblessness.

 

The immediate past Imo Commissioner for Lands, Survey & Physical Planning,  Hon.Sir. Noble Atulegwe Abiaso, gave the charge during the inauguration of the newly elected executive members of Umuaform Youths Association , UYA, in Owerri West LGA of Imo State, last weekend.

 

He maintained that any youth who wished for a brighter future should not be ashamed to take up a trade.

 

Hon. Abiaso, while addressing that youths, noted that entrepreneurs in the country have no business with unemployment, as he stressed that even University graduates need to arm themselves with one handiwork and other skills.

 

According to Sir.Noble,” Youths should have their various role models whom they look up to”.

 

The former Commissioner advised the newly inaugurated Executive Members of the village to work in unionism for greater development and growth of the village.

 

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman of Umuaform Village, Mr. Benjamin Ejimkonye , urged the newly elected executive members to lead with the fear of God, stating that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

 

The Village Chairman, therefore charged the youths to be respectful and stay away from hard drugs and alcoholism.

 

Mr. Ejimkonye described the youths as the pillars of any society, promising that fathers would support them in their bid to take the village to the next level.

 

In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated President of UYA, Comr. Chijii Collins promised to run an accountable, transparent and all inclusive administration with the support of the fathers.

 

He further pledged to rebuild, reposition and transform the youth body, hinting that he would serve with honour, dignity and courage.

 

Comr. Collins prayed God to give him intelligence, energy and integrity to pilot the affairs of the organization.

 

According to him, the administration would be participatory, collaborative, and responsive to the delight of all.

 

Highlight of the event was the decoration of Engr. Kachi Elezieanya,  as the Patron of the organization by the newly inaugurated President, Chijii Collins.

 

Responding, Engr. Elezieanya expressed happiness for the honour bestowed upon him, adding that he has witnessed such high profile honour coming to him from the youths.

 

Engr. Elezieanya who is the Executive Director, MACOL Construction Company,  challenged the youths to put God first in all their dealings, pointed out that it is never too late to turn a new leaf.

 

Those newly elected and  inaugurated as UYA Executive Members includes: “Chijii Collins- President, Anamemere Mercy – Vice President, Nath Promise- Secretary, James Orikanjo – Fin. Sec., Chukwudi Ikechi – Treasurer, Chile Okechukwu – PRO, and Victor Okeji – Provost”.

 

The event was spiced up with performances by the Kegite Club of Nigeria and some upcoming artistes who performed and displayed their various talents.

 

 

The epoch making event was graced by all Youth President from the old Umunwoha Ofo- Ise Autonomous Community, some highly respected dignitaries who were present which includes the Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on  Home Grown Feeding, Hon. Mrs. Onyinye Steve-Azu, Dr. Chidi Njoku, Mr.Benjamin Ifeanyi Orikanjo, Mr. Godson Elezieanya, Engr. Uche Ubanwa, Mr. Chidi Enwerem, Mr. Adol Anoruo, Mr. Nnamdi Njoku, and Mr. Bright Uche Ogbuehi.

 

Other persons are: Iheanacho Elezieanya, Onyewuchi Onyekwe, Engr. Emeka Umuzuruike, Chidi Onyekwe, Uzochi Orikanjo and a host of others to many to mention.
