Imo Assembly Staff Welfare Association celebrates 2018 Christmas Party

In a bid to display their unalloyed support and kindness to each other, the union leadership of Staff Welfare Association under the umbrella body of the Imo State House of Assembly, on Monday,Dec.10th 2018 ,have collectively trooped out enmass for the 2018 Annual End of the year party, otherwise called Christmas Party as part showing love and unity amongst the Staff and the lawmakers in the State House.
The Chairman of the IMHA Staff Welfare Association Comr.Uchenne Chamberlain Onwunaeme, in his welcome address/opening remarks, thanked God Almighty for keeping all the Association’s members and members of Imo State House of Assembly alive from January to December 2018.
He said described his leadership as the transparent and most accountable administration.
“Under my watch as the IMHA Staff Welfare, I have ensured peace and enabling environment for all the members-staff of the Imo State House of Assembly. My government has done great and marvelously securing the welfare of the staff in the house. He even assured them effective representation, but called on them to always support his policies”,Onwunaeme appealed.
Speaking, the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim ,who is now the Deputy Governorship candidate of Action Alliance, AA, for the 2019 general polls, thanked all the members of Staff Welfare Association for remembering to celebrate the 2018 Christmas Party.
“It will finally end in praises. I am leaving IMHA to become the next Deputy Governor of Imo State in 2019 under AA as it pleases God. My political aspiration has been about the grace of God my life. I have already chosen to be humble”, Ihim stated.
The Imo Speaker assured Staff of the State House of his assistance and told them to always knock at his doors in time of troubles.
Chief Ihim while speaking commended all the lawmakers and the staff of the house for their passion to serve the State in their capacities even as he described his Deputy Speaker, Hon.Ugonna Ozuruigbo as a wonderful young man who has been very close and supportive to him as the Speaker of the House.
He therefore encouraged the staff to leave up to expectations and charged them to always deliver as civil servants.
Also speaking, the Deputy Speaker of Imo Stated House of Assembly, Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo, expressively extolled the State House of Assembly Staff Welfare Association for their show of love to the lawmakers and promised to support them in his own capacity.
Those who were honored with various awards includes: the Speaker of the House, Acho Ihim, the Deputy Speaker, Hon.Ugonna Ozuruigbo, the State House of Assembly Member for Ideato South, Hon.Ikechukwu Amuka, and the Clerk of the House, Sir.Chris Duru, amongst other respected dignitaries.
Responding to his award, the Clerk of the Imo State House of Assembly, Sir.Duru, expressed satisfaction to be honoured by the members of Staff Welfare for the second time and promised to guide and support them.
