If Bindow Commit Impeachable Offences, We Will Not Spare Him, But We are Not Here to Impeach Him- Speaker
The speaker of Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Mijinyawa said his position as a speaker is not to be used against anybody, neither is he is going to use it as an instrument of witch-hunting or destroying anybody’s political ambition.
“I am not here for impeachment, I can’t be used to impeach anybody, people voted for change so I am for change to the people”- Kabiru said
Kabiru added that some people are probably happy the way the state is lagging behind in terms of development because of inconsistency in governance, as he lamented how the state has had seven Governors in seven years.
According to him in as much as he is not in the House to impeach Governor Bindow that is not to say if he commits impeachable offences he cannot be impeached.
” My Mission in the House is to change Adamawa for good that was why they voted for us, I am not here to impeach anybody but that is not to say if he commit impeachable offences he will be spared, everything I am doing in the House is purely a constitutional matter. Any impeachment move must follow due process (Constitution)”. He added
Kabiru said this to some Journalists in Yola when the met him to clear the air on how people in the state are alleging that he is showing total loyalty to the Governor, forgetting he has a sensitive role to play in monitoring and checkmating the activities of the Governor.
