The Plateau state Governor-elect Bar. Simon Lalong has pledged not dissolved the Local Government Council Chairmen in Plateau state.
Speaking during a solidarity and congratulatory visit to the Governor-elect at the Green House, presidential lodge in Plateau state.
Lalong assured them of his administration commitment to the rules of law and work with the council chairmen in promoting the peaceful coexistence among the people of the state.
He promised to use the constitutional provision in resolving conflict is very important because your loyalty is not for the state not an individual.
Lalong said,” I tried to melt with you before the elections, but it was not possible speaking of freedom of choice is the business in Nigeria , you have the right before the election but that is gone now ,whether you choice Mr A or B after that you bond to serve the people of Plateau state”.
One thing they said, is that I would dissolved the local government councils in Plateau state, but am not dissolving the local government council in Plateau state .
He pointed out that, now that the elections is over ” we will seat down and look at its .
However, he stressed further that before the elections the local government chairmen have allegiance to the party and may be and individual, but after this elections you will be loyal to the people of Plateau state .
All the 17 local government council Chairmen in Plateau state have shifted their loyalty to the incoming administration of Rt Hon. Simon Lalong .
Led by the Association of Local Government of Nigeria( ALGON) ,Hon Emmanuel Loman who congratulated the Lalong on his landslide victory at the poll promised to partner with him to move the state forward.
We all agree to partner with the new government to deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizens of Plateau state also for the benefit of the state.
According to him, we offer our total loyalty and support on issues that would grantee freedom of association and worship because we have one vision and we know the plight of people at the grassroots level more .
“We are here specially to congratulate you, we so much believes that God gives power to whoever he feels like at a time he deem its necessary for him act” .
Loman stated that governance is about the entire people and they want to give their assurance that they will be partnering with him to work specially for the people of Plateau state
