The Head of Service of Nasarawa State, Nicholas Abari Aboki has revealed that he did not know the exact number of civil servants in the payroll of the State Government.

He disclosed this while monitoring the conduct of promotion examination for 117 Directors and other cadres cut across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies jostling for ten positions of permanent secretaries held at Umaru Tanko Al-Makura Computer-Based Testing center, Lafia.

“I don’t know the precise number of workforce in the state currently, reason been that civil servants died and some retired on daily bases”.

The Head of Service insisted that he will make the figure public after the outcome of the ongoing data capture and screening exercise.

The Head of Service maintained that for the first time in the history of Nasarawa State civil servants sat for promotion examination since the creation of Nasarawa State.

It could be recalled that the incumbent administration under the headship of Engineer Abdullahi Sule has embarked on a series of screening exercises with the sole aim of fishing out ghost workers in the payroll of the Government.
