I Defeated Al-Makura With 16,500 Votes-Senator-Elect Tells Andoma

The Senator-Elect, Nasarawa South Senatorial Zone (PDP) Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo has told His Royal Highness, the Andoma Of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah that he defeated his opponent Distinguished Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of the All Progressives Congress with 16,500 votes.

Onawo gave the hint when he led a mammoth crowd to thank the Andoma of Doma for blessing him at his palace shortly after his declaration as the winner of Nasarawa South Senatorial zone.

Senator Ogoshi Onawo expressed delight over the support accorded him by the people of DOMA, Obi, Lafia, Awe and Keana.

“I’m here with my supporters to shower encomium over the support they gave me, especially the people of Obi Local Government, they gave me 70 percent votes, that is saying I polled 21,009 votes, in Doma I scored 100, my reason is that out of 50 polling units, the PDP cleared 48 polling units with wider margin”.

” Your royal highness, some identified APC bigwigs went ahead to thwart the election result but because of tight security they were nabbed and the prepared result was exposed, that result again favored me because in the first result, I defeated him with 14, 500 votes and suddenly I was placed on 16,500 vote

The traditional ruler and the custodian of the Doma tradition, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah in his response congratulated the winner of Nasarawa South Senatorial sone over his landslide victory.

He urged him to work towards uniting the zone as well as giving them fair representation, saying fair and equal representation will afford him a longer term at the national assembly.

“The task ahead of you now is to accord equal representation to the people of Awe, Doma, Lafia, Obi and Keana devoid of any sentiment”.

The Andoma urged him to do everything possible within his power to lobby for Lafia -Doma -Apo Road  in the federal capital territory, saying if that is possible it be a shortcut for the people of Doma local government.

The visit attracted fanfare ranging from the display of traditional drums to the team of motorcyclists.
