Speaking in a telephone interview, the former Chairman of Madagali, Maina Ularamu said the insurgents attacked the village at about 8:30 pm on Saturday.
He stated that a large number of gun men invaded the village, forcing residents to flee to nearby bush.
According to him, two female suicide bombers who disguised as fleeing villagers detonated explosives in the bush where many people were hiding, killing twelve persons.
He added that many victims who sustained injuries were evacuated to the hospital by police personnel.
The spokesperson of Adamawa Police Command, DSP Othman Abubkar confirmed the attack but did not give details.
