No Room For Imposition, Says Fintiri As Madagali Emerges APC Chairman By Consensus

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reaffirmed his commitment to internal democracy within the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that the party will not tolerate the imposition of leaders as it strengthens its newly aligned structure.

Fintiri made the statement during the party’s state congress held at Mamman Ribadu Square in Yola, emphasizing that only diligence and genuine political engagement would be rewarded.

“Those who linger around us for mere political opportunism will ultimately lose relevance,” he said.

“Anyone who believes they can force endorsement through imposition will inevitably lose ground to serious and hardworking politicians seeking a level playing field, such as what currently exists within the APC.”

The governor also expressed confidence in the party’s growing grassroots strength, vowing to deliver all 226 wards in Adamawa State to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“This movement is like a train with a solid grassroots base and unstoppable momentum. It is capable of carrying everyone along while overcoming any opposition. It will not stop until it secures all 226 wards of Adamawa State for the President,” Fintiri added.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected state chairman of the APC, Hamza Bello Madagali, expressed gratitude to party members for entrusting him with the leadership role.

A former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Madagali pledged to lead with fairness and inclusivity.

“I have no preferred candidate. I belong to everyone, and I will ensure that no one is left behind as we work toward delivering Adamawa State and all elective positions to the APC,” he said.

Madagali called on party members at all levels ward, local, government, and state, to unite and work collectively for the party’s success.

Earlier, the APC zonal chairman, Idris Shuaibu, noted that since the governor’s alignment with the party, it has witnessed increased support, funding, and a surge in membership registration.

He expressed optimism that the APC would secure a landslide victory in future elections across the state.

The highlight of the congress was the administration of the oath of office to the newly elected executives, including Madagali as chairman, alongside other key officials such as the vice chairman and secretary, marking the formal inauguration of the party’s new leadership in Adamawa State
