How Nasarawa Assembly Uncovered Syndicates Behind Fake Appointment Of 38 Fake Teachers In The State

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Science and Technology has uncovered two syndicates behind the fake appointments of 38 secondary school teachers in the state.

This was made known when the syndicates, Michael John, a staff of the state Ministry of Education, and Mr. John Nuhu, a former Staff of the Teachers Service Commission TSC, who is also a former staff of the Ministry of Information admitted before the committee of committing the crime.

They have also admitted that they have collected between N50,000 and N 100,000 before issuing fake appointment letters to the applicants as well as posting them to various schools.

They have said that the 38 teachers enjoyed salaries from the state government for some months before it was discovered.

Karoline Barde, a victim of the fake appointment, who studied History/ Geography from College of Education Akwanga and posted to GSS Rinze in Akwanga LG said that it was her father that paid money to John Nuhu when she was offered the fake appointment.

Also speaking before the committee was Mrs. Rhoda Daniel, Principal, GJSS Duduguru in Obi LG said that three teachers, namely Franklyn Lortyer, Grace Kwagh, and Christiana Embugushiki were posted to her school and they have received salaries for four months before they left.

She added that they were sent to teach in the school and after some months they left the school.

The Chairman of the committee Hon Daniel Ogazi said that the committee will give all those involved fair hearing adding that the house will not allow anyone to sabotage Gov. Sule’s effort in improving the education sector.
