The Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory and the Senate’s minority Whip, Sen. Philip Aduda has urged the Honourable Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, FCT, Comrade Dalhatu Ezekiel Musa to be fair to all in discharging his duties.
Aduda gave the advice in Abuja on Thursday when he played host to the management team of the Commission led by Dalhatu who paid him a courtesy call in his residence. The Senator said Dalhatu’s background as an activist has prepared him for the job and he is confident that he would leave behind a good legacy at the Commission.
“My own is simple, do good to all manner of people that might come your way in the discharge of your responsibility to the PCC and to the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I do not see anything short of that, so you must continue as much as possible to do good to all manner of people that might come your way in the discharge of your responsibility because whoever comes has one problem or the other. You must listen to him or her and ensure justice is served, you must ensure you give a listening ear. People are there sometimes to have a place where they can lean on, somebody would just want you to listen to him” he said.
The Senator urged the Commissioner to consider him as a partner in progress as both are out to meaningfully impact the lives of people living in the FCT.
Earlier in his remarks, Dalhatu said he came to thank and seek the support of the Senator as the only representative of the FCT in the red chambers. The Commissioner commended the Senator for his achievements in the Senate and said he is hopeful that with his support, some of the challenges facing the Commission will be surmounted. He assured the Senator that he will live up to the expectations of the office and that he will be just to all including the Senator in case there may be any matter lodged against him as well.
Dalhatu thanked the people’s Senator for the kind gesture of a warm reception.
