How Irigwe Militants Sneaked In To Kill Us During 5:30 Am Morning Prayers – Miyetti Allah Plateau Leader

Are the Fulani herdsmen truly killer squads in Nigeria? That is the assertion made by Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Plateau state chapter, Alh Muhammad Nuru Abdullahi who also expressed sadness over how the Irigwe militants cross carpeted into the Rukuba land to kill 5 people and 53 cows with over 400 heads missing.
“Five of our people’s settlements was under attack in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau by the Irigwe militants, this occurred at about 5:50 to 6 am when our Fulani brothers went to pray, then they heard someone shouting and that he was in Army Uniform and ordered them to move in to their settlement .
“The Irigwe land is almost 10 kilometers away from the Rukuba land which accommodate the herders but they all mobilize to come and perpetual this heinous crime against our people .
Explaining further he said; “I am speaking to you, we discovered 5 dead bodies with 53 cows killed and 300 to 400 cows are still missing after the early hours of Wednesday attacks in five different communities belonging to Fulani in Bassa local Government.
COMPLAINT OF BRUTAL, WORRYESOME HORRIFIC AND SPORADIC ATTACKS, RUSTLING, RAMPANT AND INCESSANT KILLINGS OF FULANI AND THEIR HERDS OF CATTLE BY THE IRIGWE MILITIAS GROUP.
We write formally and officially to observe and condemned the incessant attacks and killings of Fulani cattle rearers and their cows by the Irigwe armed bandits.
These furious, impetuous and vehement activities of the hoodlums, we describe it as barbaric and an act of disrupting the peace we are enjoying. We hereby write to express our great concern over the security challenges that have shown it’s ugly face in Miango chiefdom of Bassa local government area.
Therefore, we used this medium to draw your attention to the horrible, abominable, deplorable, terrifying and heinous act of killing the herdsmen, which our investigation shows that it is a communal enormous wickedness, extreme criminality, cruelty and atrocities of the Irigwe militias. The recent happenings are quiet alarming apprehensioning frightening and disturbing.
Firstly, on Monday, 15th January, 2018 Irigwe armed militias group attack Fulani rearers around Gidan Ado village and rustled over 300 cows and 56 sheep. The second Two head that were rustled have been recovered completely. While from the first two herd of 126 cows. 26 were recovered alive but sold in the market due to major injuries, 7 were recovered healthy, 38 were killed and dump in a ditch at Mai Yanga village, while the remaining 55 were not recovered and we don’t know their whereabout. For the 56 goats, (45 that belong to Idris Gidado while belong to Usha’u Usman Wada) were not recovered.
In the same vein, on 22nd January, 2018 the Irigwe armed held militias from Kwachudu village of Bassa LGA attack Fulani cattle rearers around Raffin Bauna village shot and matchete 18 cows belonging to the Fulani.A total of 5 cows were confirmed killed and 13 seriously injured.
In another approach on 23rd January, 2018 this unfortunate event have continued repeating itself. The Irigwe armed militias attack Fulani cattle rearers at Dan Kuturu village from Kwal district in the same Bassa LGA at about 15 hours killed two defenceless rearers namely: Anas Lado and Musa Idris in cold-blood without any provocation, intimidation and or harassment. The militias fired at some cows and injured 5
In Bassa again, On Wednesday 24th January, 2018 the Irigwe militias re-attack Fulani at Raffin Bauna from Kwachudu village.
Apart from firing Ibrahim Shehu was abducted by the group and found killed, beheaded and dismantled by the marauders, plunders and predators. It is so much sympathetic, pathetic, sorrowful and grievous that human life and properties of innocent citizens were on daily bases targeted and destroyed without any justification. To be sincere, we have a reservation on how some officers of OPSH era operating in the area. We strongly advice your office to call a meeting on some of the challenge will be address.
Therefore Sir, you should use your intelligence to come up with an efficient and enduring method that can overwhelm the resurgence of this Irigwe gunmen and any others who are prowling and roving villages, grazing fields shooting and killing innocent Fulani heardsmen.
This criminal mobbers should never be allowed to intimidate, harass and threaten our peace loving community members any more. We use this medium to call your good office, being one of the effective security agency in the state and the country at large, as you are saddle with the responsibility to curb these menace and security challenges and enforce peace on the plateau and it environ. We are appealing for fair and effective operation in safeguarding innocent citizens
