The former member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Lafia/Obi Federal constituency, Dr.Haruna Kigbu has averred that he succeeded in collapsing his former party, The Peoples Democratic Party before leaving.
Dr. Haruna Joseph Kigbu stated this during his official defection alongside over 10,000 supporters cut across PDP, APGA, ZLP to the ruling All Progressives Congress, an occasion held at Lafia Square.
Kigbu said the opposition political party is death before arrival, He further said his defection alongside other party heavyweight is a sign of hitch-free return ticket for the incumbent Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule come 2023.
“Your Excellency I can guarantee you a safe return ticket to Government House with the conglomeration of supporters cut across the tribal line”
He maintained that is coming back to his home to add value to his party, He however thanked Governor Abdullahi Sule for accepting him back into the APC fold.
Hon. Joseph Kigbu in his speech dares his challenger in the 2015 and 2019 elections, Hon. Abubakar Sarki Dahiru whose two elections ended at the Election Petition Tribunals.
“I appreciate the party caretaker committee Secretary, Aliyu Bello, Hon Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, The Jugujugu of Keffi politics, I also thanked Hon Sarki Dahiru, Maiyamma, He knows me very well, yes he knows me”
The returnee politician announced the donation of five Sharon vehicles to the five Local Government that made up Nasarawa South senatorial district to include Lafia, Doma, Obi, Awe, and Keana.
Kigbu called on the PDP and other political parties in Nasarawa State to take advantage of the performance of Engineer Abdullahi Sule’s administration,’s mantra “Exceeding All Expectations”.
Onlookers continued to ask pertinent questions on what they referred to as a marriage of inconveniences on what position would be given to Hon. Kigbu that warrants him to dump the PDP after working tirelessly for the second return of Hon. Francis Orogu as the state chairman of the PDP either by hook or crook.
The political atmosphere is tense as think-tanks in the ruling APC are working round the clock to ensure that the dream of the former governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to occupy the office of the national chairman of the party is a dream come true, and if that work Dr. Haruna Kigbu would replace Dr. Emmanuel Akabe as Deputy Governor while Akabe would be given an automatic ticket for senate Nasarawa south.
