Hon.Anthony Obande (PDP), the defeated member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly yesterday lost his appeal at the election Petition Tribunal the chairman of the tribunal in his ruling dismiss the matter for lack of merit.
Justice Peter Obiora averred that the petitioner, Anthony Obande of the People’s Democratic Party’s affidavit did not complied to electoral act, the chairman says the petition lack ground.
The Election Petition Tribunal re-affirmed the election of Hon.James Dangana (APC) representing Doma south as the substantive winner of House of Assembly, Dangana won with differences of 5 votes against his opponent Anthony Obande. The former member was an antagonist to the Nasarawa Governor.
Despite the huddles surrounding the embattled lawmaker he remain tall among the four outstanding members that stood for the truth when it comes to matter of public interest in House.
In a similar vain the election petition tribunal sitting in Lafia has upheld the election of Hon.Peter Mbucho (PDP) representing Akwanga North ,the petition was filled his opponent of the All Progressives Congress, Hon.Kyuni challenging his who in his relief called on the tribunal to canceled results in some polling units.
Hon. Anthony Kyuni through his counsel, Chris Kuje buttressed that the position of his client to appeal or not remain sancrosant, the petitioner averred that the election of Mbucho was mar by irregularities.
