Gunmen Raid Zaria Low-Cost, Abduct Women, Children

Gunmen have raided the Zaria Low-Cost Housing Estate on Sunday night, abducting many women and children, wounding many others.

21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that a pregnant woman was among those kidnapped during the night raid.

The spokesperson of Kaduna State Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, confirmed the attack, but saying that only four persons were abducted.

 

The bandits stormed the neighborhood around 9:40pm Sunday night, according to residents.

 

The residents lamented that the bandits “operated for nearly 4 hours” before the arrival of security officials.

 

It was gathered that the gunmen numbering more than 50, and went from house to house looking for people to abduct.

 

The police said efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the victims.
