As the battle for PDP chairmanship begins, a renowned political group known as concerned North-East PDP vanguard has finally endorsed the candidature of Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam as the next chairman of the party.
This is just as the group has lamented that lack of rules and internal democracy in the PDP was responsible for the defeat of the party during the last 2015 general elections in the country and blamed the leadership.
Chairman of the group Mohammed Sani Hassan made the statement while briefing newsmen in Bauchi said, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam stand as the best candidate that can revive the PDP that is in drift following vested interest of the party in the past
The group added that the position of the National chairman of the PDP remains nonnegotiable for the North-east to produce and by extension Bauchi state attributing the endorsement of Gabam to his credibility, experience and well articulated politician that was there when the PDP was formed.
According to the group, Gabam is the only credible politician that can face the APC ruling party ahead of 2019 general elections and describe him as silence achievers without discrimination.
Hassan stresses that, it is imperative for the PDP to vote Gabam as the next national chairman because he can perfectly pilot the affairs of the party by giving a sense of belonging to every member following his vision to build the bridges as a youthful and dynamic leader.
“ You are aware that the durability and sustainability of democratic institution hinged on integrity and preservation of its core values and PDP deserves Gabam as such respected personality determine to rekindle the hope of the PDP as we cannot afford to lose ahead of 2019 general elections” said Hassan.
The group had challenges the PDP leadership to borrow a leaf from the founding fathers of the party to safeguard its survival regardless of putting their personal interest above board.
However, Hassan had also laments that the PDP lack rules and internal democracy and blamed the leaders for operating dictatorship that culminated to the defeat of the party during 2019 general elections.
It therefore calls on PDP supporters nation-wide not to hesitate in endorsing the candidature of Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam as the next national chairman of the PDP to capture power ahead of 2019.
