Group denounces membership with APC, defect to SDP in Jos

A group of All Progressive Congress (APC) supporters in Plateau State have defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) thereby withdrawing their membership of the party, as they said they ready  to work for the new political party.

This medium learnt that  mass decamping looms in Plateau Central and Southern senatorial districts of Plateau state  from the APC to Social Democratic Party, an action they  blamed on the Chairman of APC  Hon Latep Dabang for neglecting those who worked for the victory of the party in the 2015 election.

The local coordinator of President Muhammadu Buhari campaign organization in 2015 in Plateau state, Alh Saddiq Sumbelep said their defection from the APC to   the Social Democratic Party was out of fear of some policy of federal government, which they said it include abandoning the  plan of empowering youths.

He disclosed this in a press statement made available to our correspondent in Jos ,revealed that over 500 members are ready to denounce their membership with the APC in the state.

Sumbelep said they decamped to SDP owning to the failure of the federal government to fulfill her campaign promises  of creating employment opportunity to the vulnerable youth.

According to him, it is getting to one year now there is no programme for unemployed youths in Nigeria and the cost of living is very high in the market.

Sumbelep complained that many homes cannot feed their family because of rising prices of foodstuffs forcing people to beg ,”federal government had  refused to make any statement regarding the current hike in food items ,maize now sells for 200 per measure and rice 400 Naira respectively.

Meanwhile, he said some group of veteran sports journalists who are members of the SDP has subscribe to the promotion of urban and grassroots sports development to drum support and healthy living through physical exercise .

He lauded the National Chairman of SDP chief Olu Falae on his effort to revamp the party ahead of 2019 general elections.

Sumbelep reiterated the need for the federal government to take urgent measure toward tackling poverty and unemployment problem which is on the increase in the country.

He decry that everywhere in the country is not safe, if this suffering will continue like this and that government  in  the states and federal level has as refused to provide solution people people are dying of hunger under the Muhammad Buhari regime.

Sumbelep accused the APC chairman of turning his back on those who have supported  the APC to the victory  today were  poor farmers who eddonated 1,000 tubers of yam for Gov Lalong and President Buhari at the Rwang Pam stadium.

“we felt betray by the action of federal government to allow Nigerians to continue to suffer this kind of poverty after the setback during PDP led regime of Goodluck Jonathan “.
