Rabiu Omaku

Hon. Labaran Maku, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in the 2015 election has promised to accord premium to Girl-Child education if given the mandate in 2019.

Maku stated this during the Thanksgiving and launching of Professor Dinatu Jerry Iwala’s Non-Governmental Organization, Kutumasi Girl-Child Education Foundation at Jenkwe Development Area.

The erstwhile minister of Information said his administration would focus on Girl-Child education, stating that schools would get the priority of government so as to bring the womenfolk at par with men.

He, in addition, said women would be accorded a better priority through the launching of special programs for Girl-Child.

Labaran Maku averred that APGA would promote the welfare of teachers through prompt payment of salaries, he, however, buttressed that prompt payment of salaries would motivate teachers to concentrate on their job.

“My mandate is an old mandate in the hands of strangers and by the time I recovered my mandate good things will happen in Nasarawa State”.

Maku assured the people of Nasarawa state of his readiness to play a gender friendly government by involving role models amongst the womenfolk in the affairs of Nasarawa State.

“The involvement of role model amongst women would encourage the younger generation of Girl-Child to accord seriousness to western education”.

“APGA would ensure that 35-40 percent of political appointments go to women because women education will not end in the kitchen or in the other rooms instead would end in the office “.

The former minister called on Migili nation and other tribes to give Girl-Child a chance as he attributed the low enrollment into western education to cultural beliefs.

“If you want to develop and promote the society educate women and you will get the result.

The paramount ruler of Jenkwe Development Area challenged Migili nation to accord attention to the education of Girl-Child.

Dr.. Ayuba Agwadu appreciates the new Professor and the celebrant, Dinatu Jerry Iwala and the Provost College Of Education, Akwanga, Dr. Rebbeca Isaac Umar for making the Migili nation proud.

She said the floating of her NGOs Kutumasi Girl-Child education Foundation was to support women.

“I don’t believe that women are less privileged, I don’t believe that women are not intelligent, I don’t believe that women are weak but I strongly believe that women can do better than men if they are hard working and if given the opportunity
