The Governorship flag bearer of the Labour Party (L.P), Hon.Jonathan Gaza, and the former Minister of Inflation, Labaran Maku, have emerged as the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, while Labaran Maku has been cleared to contest for the Nasarawa North Senatorial district of Nasarawa State.
The Chairman of the party’s electoral committee gave the hint at the venue of the affirmation of aspirants for Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly at Paradise Hotel, Lafia.
The electoral committee Chairman expressed confidence in the Nasarawa State Labour Party primary election, saying lit was rancor free not like primary elections in other political parties.
It would be recalled that elections in all thirteen Local Governments are free and fair, as returning officers confided that the entire primary election of the Labour Party is devoid of skirmishes across the State.
Labaran Maku will contest in the election scheduled for 26 June 2026 to represent Nasarawa North Senatorial district. He will contest to complete the one-year tenure of Hon.Godiya Akwashiki of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who died recently after a protracted illness outside Nigeria.
