Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer. Abdullahi Sule, has showered cash reward of N2.5 million on the State-owned football team, Nasarawa United, for their thrilling 3-2 victory over arch-rivals Plateau United in week 33 of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
The match took place at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday evening, where Nasarawa United is fighting hard to avoid relegation from the top flight.
Governor Sule, a passionate supporter of the team, announced the cash reward as motivation to sustain their winning momentum.
“Great game guys! I love it when we revenge with authority and maturity. We will not beat anybody and definitely we will not break their vehicles. clean and authoritative win. N2.5 million from me to the team. Congratulations guys.”
While commending the team’s skills and determination, Governor Sule urged them to remain focused in the remaining matches to end the season on a high note.
This gesture is consistent with the Governor’s history of rewarding victorious teams, always doing so to motivate the State teams including Nasarawa Amazons during their recent wins.
The team won 3-2 against Plateau United, with Yusuf Anas scoring one goal and Ugochukwu Leonard scoring a brace. while Vincent Temitope and Samuel Pam scored for the visiting team

With this impressive result,Nasarawa United now has 42 points and standing on position 14th right in the middle of the log.
