Nasarawa State Governor in a concerted effort to tackle manpower deficit in the educational sector has employed a total of 14,023 staff in State-owned tertiary, secondary and Primary schools.
The State Commissioner of Education,Honorable John Waje Mamman gave the hint in an exclusive interview with Universal Reporters.
He said the State Governor employed a total of 505 at the Nasarawa State University Keffi, Out of which he said 223 are academic staff,166 are non-academic staff while 116 are both Senior and Junior lecturers respectively.
The Hon.Commissioner further stated that the Governor employed a total of 507 at the College of Education,Akwanga, 252 academic staff were employed while 315 non-academic staff were employed respectively.
At the Isa Mustapha Agwai l, Polytechnic, Lafia,no fewer than 317 manpower were employed with the sole aim of tackling staff deficit,It was revealed that 114 academic staff,100 Senior lecturers and 73 Junior manpower were employed from 2019 to date.
Governor Abdullahi Sule did not stop on that instead employed 976 staff at the College of Agriculture, Science, And Technology, Lafia, Other determination of the fourth democratically elected Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule was the upgrade of some higher institutions like the College of Agriculture,Lafia to College of Agriculture, Science, And Technology, That is to say the institution key into higher institutions that will accessed intervention from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund.
Universal Reporters can authoritatively confirmed that Governor Abdullahi Sule employed a total of 13 lecturers at the upgraded School of Nursing and Midwifery which is now College of Nursing Sciences as well the employed 212 lecturers at the State owned College of Health,Science And Technology,Keffi,This bring the cumulative number of employed manpower at both tertiary and secondary schools to 9,323 people.
At the Secondary schools level,The current administration under the able leadership of Engineer Abdullahi Sule,No fewer than 4,721 manpower were employed.
The measure taken was meant to addressing the vacuum created over the years due to either multitude of retirees or as a result of death.
Reliably source said effort was at the pipeline to employ a total number of 4,700 manpower for primary schools cut across all nook and cranny of the State.
While at the Primary School, being the cradle of education, The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Honorable Mohammed Musa Dan’,azumi in an exclusive interview confirmed that the State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule will employ 4,700, In no distance time,This will bring the number to a total of 14,023.
The Executive Chairman of NSUBEB stated that there was no any employment since 2011,
He further opined that the stringent measure to tackle acute shortage of Teacher’s was to replaced the vacuum created ,Adding that the vacuum emanated from either death, retirement or transfer of service.
“One thing that differentiate Governor Abdullahi Sule with others was that he has the ability to channeled resources to the appropriate place, That is Governor Abdullahi Sule for you.
The Executive Chairman issue stiffer warning to Government officials to shun anything that is capable of causing untold hardship by collecting graft from applicants waiting for job to change a new leaf or faced the full wrath of the law by attempting to jeopardize the exercise.
“If you are a syndicate collecting money for job, Nasarawa State is no longer safe for you people, Change before security operatives nab you and your team”.
Recalled that Governor Abdullahi Sule confirmed civil servants, Though casual staff to be fully absorbed into the main stream manpower, some onlookers described the effort of the State Governor as an effort worthy of emulation, As no sector was left with casual staff.
The new employment includes the Government House, Deputy Governor’s office, SSG’s office, The State Assembly, All Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
