Governor Jang Appoints Son Commissioner

Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang has appointed his son Yakubu the State commissioner of Lands and Urban Planning.
Prior to his appointment, he was Yakubu was special Adviser to his father on Special Duties, while briefing newsmen, the information commissioner, Mohammed Abubakar, said Yakubu Abubakar will take over from Yilji Gomwalk who was recently picked as the running mate to Sen. Gyang Pwajok who emerged as the PDP Gubernatorial candidate in the recent concluded party’s primary.
According to the information commissioner, he said the action was carried out in order to allow for continuity in governance.
With the governor’s action, it is now apparent that the he has sat on the a section of the constitution thereby violating section 14(4) that always requires the need for appointments to always reflects the miscellany of a state.
