Governor Dankwambo Urged Citizens To Be Security Conscious During Sallah Festivals

Ibrahim-Hassan-DankwamboAs Muslims woldwide prepare for the 2015 Eid-El-Fitir (Sallah) celebrations, Governor Dankwambmbo of Gombe state has urged people in the state to be security conscious and report any strange activities they may observe around them, particularly as the northeast zone faces security challenges.

The governor made the call yesterday in a written good will massage to mark this year’s Sallah festival which was made available to journalists in the state, according to him, the state government was ready to always discharge its duty of ensuring security of lives and properties.

“I wish to remind us to be security conscious and report any suspicious act capable of threatening our prevailing peace to the security agents. On our part, we will remain committed to the protection of lives and properties of the good people of Gombe State by supporting the security agencies to discharge their deities diligently.” He said.

Governor Dankwambo who called on the people to live in peace irrespective of religious and ethnic differences , also urged all Muslims in the state to learn the lessons and  teachings of the holy month of Ramadan, stating that, Islam means peace and teaches tolerance as well as mutual respect amongst members of every community.

According to him, there was need for people to live in peace and harmony without which no meaningful development would take place, he also urged religious and traditional rulers to encourage and pray for peaceful coexistence among the people.

“I urge traditional rulers, community, and religious leaders and indeed all sundry to be peaceful and continue praying for sustainable peace, which is a catalyst for socio-economic development for our dear state and the country in general.” He added.
