Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has imposed a 24 hours curfew in Bauchi Community as a violent clash claimed three lives of people in Gudum Hausawa community, Bauchi.
Comrade Mukhtar Gidado who is the Adviser On Media And Publicity in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen said that the clashes also inflicted injuries on many people and houses burnt.
He added said that the governor announced the directive when he led heads of security agencies and top government officials on an assessment visit to the affected communities.
The press statement announced that the security agencies have so far arrested some of the perpetrators of the violent clashes.
The Governor assured that his administration will not relent in providing lasting peace and security, not only in the area but across all the communities in the state.
The Governor while condemning the killing and destruction of houses by hoodlums, directed the security agencies to conduct intensive surveillance in order to identify the root cause of the incident.
“I have come here to commiserate with my brothers and sisters over the ugly incident that happened in this area and some of the perpetrators were arrested and we are in the process of prosecuting them”, the Governor had said during his visit to the affected Community Wednesday.
“We are going to support those whose houses were burnt and the families of those who lost their lives with palliatives to cushion the effect of the incident”, Bala promised.
The governor who also directed the establishment of a police outfit in the area to enforce security further urged communities residing in the area to live in peace and harmony irrespective of their religious or tribal differences.
Governor Bala reminded them that no society can progress and develop without peace.
On his part, the Commissioner of Police, Umar Sanda assured that the security agencies will work on the directives of the state government for the total restoration of peace in the Gudum Hausawa community.
