Governor Al-Makura’s Son Allegedly Killed A Student Of Govt. Science School Lafia, As Students Protested To Government House Lafia

A student of Government Science Secondary School, Lafia who when out at about 8:00pm yesterday (Sunday) to purchase Battery for his Torch Light was knocked down by a driver identified to be the son of Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

Multitude of students who were interview confided that the occupant of the vehicle, who they alleged is Kalil Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, was on a high speed plying the newly constructed UBA-Science School road where he killed the student.

Students of the school protested along the major highway carrying placards with different inscriptions pointing accusing fingers on the governor’s son, Kalil, however the prompt intervention of the Commissioner of Education, Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu helped to calm the protesting.

The education commissioner pleaded with students to remain calm, he stated this while addressing the protesting students at the school premises.

The head boy of the school in an interview said the deceased; Amos Ovey went out to procure Battery for his Torch light because there was complete blackout in the boarding school.

Goodluck Aguu affirmed that the school is in dire need of electricity as well as portable water, this compelled students to scatter to various neighborhood in search of water, making life more miserable, other hitches reeled out by the students include ram-shackled structures.

Meanwhile, Maikudi Shehu, the Police Area Commandant in charge of Lafia said the occupant of the vehicle is currently in police custody while his car was impounded at the state Criminal Investigation Department.
