Governor Al-Makura Presents N67,013,057,753 As 2017 Budget

Nasarawa state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has presented the sum of N67,013,057,753 as 2017 budget tagged “a budget of Redemption” the governor in his speech averred that the 2017 budget was in line with the International Public Service Accounting Standard.

Al-Makura opined that the 2017 budget would focused on completion of projects that has direct impact on the lives of the people, employment,, developing value chain, creating a conducive environment and enhancement of security of lives of its citizenry.

The governor promised to ensure total monitoring of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, attributing the poor Internally Generated Revenue of 2016 to the current economic recession.

The chief executive further buttressed that the state government would sustain the school feeding programs, placed greater premium on Girl-Child education, reduce youth restiveness, rehabilitation of public buildings as well accord premise on diversification of revenue.

N37,012,251,819 billion goes to recurrent expenditure while N30.8bn goes to capital expenditure, the education sector got the highest vote of N11.88bn
