  • Says Governor Yet to Pay 2012, 2013, 2014 UBEC Counterpart Fund To Access Nasarawa State Share

Hon.Rafael Dogara Saa’ka ,The chairman House committee on Education, Science and Technology has identified the non payment of 2012,2013,2014 Universal Basic Education Board (UBEC) counterpart Fuud by the State Governor as a major huddle affecting the ongoing projects  under the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) in the state.
He gave the revelation in an exclusive interview at his abode in Shabu, Advising the governor not to hesitate to settle the backlog of three years counterpart to access the chunk amount of money meant for the execution of projects.
“Our share of UBEC fund is laying at the UBEC headquarter  and if care is not taken the fund would be diverted to other states willing to paid their counterpart fund, and losing this is a great lost and at the end of the day it would affect the ongoing projects.
Speaking on the establishment of Taal Model schools by the current All Progressives Congress, on Rafael (PDP) representing Kokona East constituency lash the state government over the ongoing projects, saying only schools along major roads and highways were given a facelift.
“Go to villages and see things for yourself you will find out that pupils are sitting on bare floor under the trees, He added.
Commenting on the shortage of manpower in public schools, The chairman House committee on education, Science and Technology buttressed that schools right from state owned University, College of Agriculture, College of Education, State Polytechnic are in dire need of manpower.

“our schools are facing acute shortage of manpower, this was extended to our ministries, we have enough vacancy  that needed replacement in almost all the ministries, Expressing mis-feelings over the development .
