Gombe state governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who was represented by permanent secretary General duties Government House Alhaji Usman Mohammed shamaki has called on Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and its counterpart Independent Corrupt Practices (ICPC) to do as much as possible to organize orientation exercise to educate the public on the need to shun corrupt practices.
Governor Yahaya made the appealed yesterday in Gombe during a one day workshop organized by the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria with a theme towards a corrupt free public service.
While commenting the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria for their foresight for choosing the topic to partner with the federal government to fight corruption in the public service as well as the nation at large.
He said government will create an enabling environment to enable the public functionaries discharge their duties effectively.
Governor Yahaya reiterated government readiness to support the activities of the civil servants and called on them to shun corrupt practices and rededicate themselves in order to fast-track development of the state.
Speaking earlier, chapter Chairman of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria comrade Uloko Sule urged participants to participate actively through out the workshop so that they get informed inorder to improve in service delivery.
According to him, the workshop which was organized by the association was carefully selected to address challenges in the service delivery to the public.
