Gov Sule Places Nasarawa State On The Path of Rapid Development -SSA Public Affairs Tells Chairman PDP

…. Governor Sule Was Rejected Because Of Non-Performance And Insecurity-PDP

The Senior Special Assistant to the Nasarawa State Governor on Public Affairs, Comrade Peter Ahemba has called on the right-thinking people of Nasarawa especially the supporters of the incumbent administration of Engineer Abdullahi Sule to remain calm and resolute over the blackmail and negative perception of the State Chairman of the opposition political party The PDP, saying Governor Sule has placed the State on a fast lane of development.

The SSA stated this while reacting to a press statement issued to Journalists in Lafia, The State Chairman of the PDP urged the Nasarawa State Governor Engineer Abdullahi Sule not to drag President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike into Nasarawa politics.

He described the statement as a mere fallacy meant to ridicule the present administration of Engineer Abdullahi Sule, Saying the Governor is not surprised over the action of the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party To put the record straight, Is on record the Governor Sule is on the part of prudent and rapid development of the “Home of Solid Minerals”.

On assumption of office on 29 May 2019, Engineer Sule has changed the narrative in the area of health, education security road and infrastructural development and economy also improve, to mention but a few of the milestone achievements.

Comrade averred that the current administration has entered into a partnership with the Federal Capital Territory to develop 13,000 hectares of land at Kabusu, 5 km away from the nation’s capital, He added.

According to him,” Gentlemen of the press, I wish to commence this address by thanking the Almighty God for making it possible for us to meet here again.  We also appreciate you, members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm for finding time to attend this Press Conference which is aimed to clear the air on the recent working visit by His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nassrawa State to some Hon. Ministers in Abuja.

Our attention has been drawn to a media publication wherein the State Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Francis Orogu was quoted to have called on His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the Executive Governor of Nassrawa State and Chairman of the North-Central Governors’ Forum not to drag President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike and others into Nasarawa politics.

He said the recent visit by the State Governor to the FCT Minister was to seek his support towards securing a favourable judgement at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Lafia. The Governor is not in any way surprised at this deliberate falsehood by the opposition party as such has been the antics of the opposition party in the State and its style of politics, which the Governor views as normal behaviour of any opposition political party, especially one that has suffered defeat at Governorship elections for four (4) consecutive times and at the verge of suffering another defeat at the Tribunal.

Peter Ahemba explained that the Government of Engineer Abdullahi Sule remains steadfast and shall resist being dragged into joining issues with the opposition under whatever guise.

“We consider it pertinent to put records straight for the sake of unsuspecting members of the public, who might be misled by the serial false alarms which have seemingly become the hallmark of opposition politics in the State.

It is on record that, since assumption of office as the fourth democratically elected Governor of Nasarawa State on May 29th 2019, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule has continued to drive the State on the path of progress and development.

in all spheres, specifically in the areas of security, infrastructure, industrialization, investment, human capital development, agriculture, health, and education, among other sectors of the economy.

First and foremost, the PDP leader and indeed, members of the public should note that the recent working visit to the FCT Minister by Governor Sule was mainly to solicit further collaboration with the FCT Administration for a metro line from Apo to Keffi, as well as a partnership to build the 13,000 hectares Gurku/Kabusu Mega City that is only about 5km away from Maitama ll. A day before the visit to the FCT Minister, the Governor was visited by the Hon Ministers of Police Affairs, as well as the Health and Social Welfare in the company of GAVI at the Nasarawa Governor’s lodge in Abuja, while the Governor also visited the Hon. Minister of Minerals Resources the same day, all with the aim to attract development to the State.

Unarguably, about 40 per cent of those working in FCT live in Nasarawa State and any right-thinking opposition political party leader, who means well for the State will admit the fact that Nasarawa State has witnessed and still recording tremendous progress under Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule-led Government as a result of such collaborations with relevant individuals and organizations.

An opposition party that has the interest of the people at heart and is interested in propelling good governance through constructive criticisms will applaud the Governor’s

initiative to seek partnership with the new FCT Minister because it is the right step in the right direction.

We find this show of desperation by the PDP laughable because, while the good people of the State are praising Governor Sule for the recent visit to the FCT Minister and that of Solid Minerals Development due to its potential to impact positively on the State, the PDP leader, who has become a false alarmist is alleging the visit was designed to influence the pending judgement of the Governorship Tribunal. For the opposition party, any visit to Abuja by the Governor or any other stakeholder that is not a member of the PDP is working to influence the outcome of the Tribunal.

Mr. Francis Orogu should rather tell the people of Nasarawa State why he and other PDP leaders in the State suddenly relocated temporarily to Abuja since the commencement of proceedings at the Tribunal and have been moving from one retired Military General to another with the evil intention to get the mandate freely given to Governor Sule by the electorates upturned. The PDP Chairman should be reminded that political power in a democratic setting cannot be acquired through the backdoor.

Again, let it be known to the PDP that, His Excellency, Governor Sule and his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have zero worries about what might be the outcome of the Tribunal. The Governor has tremendous respect for the judiciary and believes in its ability to dispense justice fairly.

With the rejection and humiliating defeat of the PDP Governorship candidate in the March 18th Governorship election by the electorates and sound legal defence mounted at the Tribunal by Governor Sule’s legal team throughout the proceedings, coupled with the disgraceful outing of PDP witnesses at the Tribunal, who admitted that their party rigged the election in several Polling Units and shortchanged the ruling APC of hundreds of votes during the election, Governor Sule absolutely no reason to contemplate going to anyone to help influence the outcome of the Tribunal as alleged by the PDP. It is glaring that the PDP may have no case after all.

Secondly, the issue of kidnapping and other forms of insecurity in the State is not peculiar to Nasarawa State as the PDP wants members of the public to believe. Nasarawa State is rated many times as one of the most peaceful States in Nigeria because of the way and manner Governor Sule has continued to deal decisively with security threats in all parts of the State.

The PDP leaders should rather commend Governor Sule that, despite not having control over the security agencies, the Governor has been able to restore peace in all parts of the State through effective synergy with the Federal Government and security agencies which is why the citizens, including leaders of the opposition party and their private investments in many parts of the State have remained secure.

Governor Sule remains focused on the task of governance for the overall benefit of the State and will never allow his government to be distracted by the antics of the opposition.

The people have spoken through the ballot and that has brought about the second mandate upon which the good people of Nasarawa State shall stand till 2027, God’s willing. The PDP Chairman should also know that no amount of false alarms and media propaganda will save his party from the eminent defeat at the Tribunal and the earlier he comes to terms with this fact, the better for him and his supporters.
