On Friday, May 30th 2019,the newly sworn-in Governor of Imo State,Gov.Emeka Nkem Ihedioha,barely 24 hours of his official handover ceremony in Owerri,appointed Mr.Chibuike Onyeukwu,as his
Chief Press Secretary, CPS,whereas Mr. Steve Osuji,has been announced as the Special Adviser (Media).
Osuji, a graduate of Mass Communication, University of Lagos is an experienced and respected Senior Journalist of over two decades standing.
He has been an Editor in many of the major newspapers in Nigeria, such as “The Guardian, Thisday, Newage as well as MD/CEO of Imo Newspapers Limited.
Osuji is currently a member of the Editorial Board of The Nation Newspaper.
He will bring his wealth of experience and clout to bear on the job.
Onyeukwu holds a first degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication both from Imo State University.
He also holds a PGD ( Journalism).
He has been a long-time Media Aide of Governor Ihedioha from the parliamentary days, including marshalling other critical media efforts.
Their appointments have been taken effect immediately.
The release was signed by the Governor’s CPS,Mr.Chibuike Onyeukwu, even as he expressively thanked God and the Governor for his appointment, but promised to discharge his duties accordingly to the best on his knowledge for the growth and development of Imo State through the media.
