GOV. GANDUJE FELICITATES WITH MUSLIMS, CALLS ON THEM TO REMAIN PIOUS AFTER RAMADAN

Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has urged Muslims to continue to imbibe the virtues of the Holy month which include piety, forgiveness, charity, sacrifice and good neighborliness among other things.

In an Eid El – Kabir message to the people of Kano state, the governor explained that so doing would ensure that much need refined social order in the society.

“We have just emerged from a period of spiritual rejuvenation and participation in virtuous activities such as charitable giving and peace-making”, the governor stated adding that it is imperative maintain the virtues of the holy month for individual and societal progress.

Governor Ganduje noted that this year’s Eid “is coming at a time of economic recession which has resulted in low purchasing power and general hardship in the society.”

He, therefore, stressed that the state government is not unaware of this development and will continue to do its best to alleviate the suffering of citizens of the state.

The governor promised that his administration will also maintain its commitment to executing policies and programmes aimed at making Kano great and making life more meaningful for the people.

He, however, reminded that progress and prosperity will continue to elude the citizens unless they live peacefully with one another and work as team to make the state and Nigeria great.

“We can only to remain a model in Nigeria if we sustain our culture of hospitality, tolerance, hard work, communal spirit and entrepreneurial character”, governor Ganduje emphasized.
