Gov Bala Approves N300,000 As Running Costs For Education Secretaries

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has approved the sum of three hundred thousand Naira for monthly running costs for 21 local government education secretaries in the state.

 

The Permanent Secretary of the Education and Board Chairman of the Agency Usman Kawu disclosed this during the inauguration of the 21 local government education secretaries Tuesday in Bauchi.

 

According to him said, “The Executive Governor of Bauchi Bala Mohammed has approved the sum of three hundred thousand Naira for your monthly running cost”.

 

He, however, charges the new appointees to be just and fair in discharging their respective responsibilities and ensure proper utilization of the fund.

 

Earlier, the chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Abubakar Siribai Sheikh Tahir warned the education secretaries against bad attitudes and corruption in office.

 

Siribai said that “Your appointment is based on merits describing the appointment as an opportunity to save the state”

 

“Your key responsibility is a supervisory role, you are to go out and see things for yourself not sitting in your offices, depending on rumors and hearsays on what is happening in the schools. This will help you to give accurate reports and ensure good supervision”, he added.

 

While congratulating the newly appointees, he also charged them to work with their subordinates at their respective local government with a view to achieving desired goals.

 

Also, the chairman house committee on education in the State Assembly, Honorable Babayo Akuyam commended the efforts of the governor for the gesture, saying that if properly utilized it will improve the educational sector in the state.

 

Akuyam also urged the newly appointed secretaries to be hardworking by ensuring they monitored teachers and keep records and also ensures lessons plan were duly adhered to at various local government areas.
