- May suspends him from the party
The former Gombe state governor senator Danjuma Goje has run into trouble, as his party the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) is calling for his suspension from the party.
Goje who was called in Gombe during his government as ’emperor’ due to his links to many crises was alleged to be behind the establishment of the deadly gang called ‘ yankalere’.
The spokesman of the group Dr. Abubakar Ibrahim of the APC Stakeholders in Gombe state stated that Governor Inuwa Yahaya was never accused of any criminal tendencies from childhood up till today.
“Governor Yahaya has been a peacemaker and one who sacrificed himself to offer the best for the good people of Gombe and Nigeria at large,’ he said.
The Stakeholders warned Senator Danjuma Goje against his desperate move to compromise peace in the state and throw the administration of Governor Yahaya into chaos for his selfish interest.
He asked, “Why will Goje recruit the youth into thuggery and drug abuse instead of using his political office to empower them to better our society?”.
The angry reaction of the APC Stakeholders was a sequel to last Friday’s violent clashes that caused the death of five people.
According to an eye witness who does not want his name in print said that some thugs suspected to be loyal to senator Goje armed with dangerous weapons mobilized to receive the former governor who now represents Gombe Central Senatorial District at the Airport descended on APC loyalists who expressed dissatisfaction on such a dangerous political enterprise.
The party has given Senator Danjuma Goje a one-week ultimatum to tender an apology to the party and residents of the state for the violent clash masterminded by his sponsored political thugs.
Dr. Abubakar said, “the stakeholders are calling on APC for his immediate Suspension to give peace a chance in Gombe State.”
“Why is Goje sabotaging peace process put in place by Governor Inuwa, Dr. Abubakar queried?”
