Get Vaccinated, Or Remain In Nigeria-Chairman, Presidential Steering Committee On COVID-19 Tells The People Of Nasarawa State

The Chairman steering committee on coronavirus pandemic, Boss Mustapha has called on Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing vaccine


He stated this during a town hall meeting held at Aliyu Akwe Banquet Hall, Government House, Lafia


He called on Nigerians to get vaccinated or remain at home, saying any citizen that shunned the vaccine is doing more harm than good especially those having opportunities outside the country.


Boss Mustapha said the vaccination has mild side effects like any other vaccination, Adding that the COVID-19 vaccine is safe.


The Chairman explained that Nigeria recorded a total of 261 from the index case on 20, February 2020 in Ogun State.


He further buttressed that the country recorded a total of 164,233 confirmed cases as of April,19,2021, He however said the country received 400m doses of Oxford AstraZeneca.


The Secretary to the  Government of the Federation, Boss Gida Mustapha commended the Governor of the host State, Nasarawa, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for been the burden bearer because of the proximity of Nasarawa to the Federal Capital Territory.


“I commended the Governor and the good people of Nasarawa State for taking a lot of weight in times of land, residential in Karu, the gateway to the FCT”.


Engineer Abdullahi Sule thanked the Chairman, Presidential Steering committee on COVID-19 for considering Nasarawa State for saying the state needed special status considering the burden of the Federal Capital Territory that was shifted to the state.


The Governor said part of the commitment of his administration’s stride includes the completion of the multi-million Naira Centre for Disease Control initiated by his predecessor, Senator.Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.


The Governor eulogies the Presidential Steering committee on coronavirus for supporting the state with some facilities.


He says the commissioning of the center reduces the burden of taking samples out of the state.
