How General Manager of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, Yusuf Musa Ignited The Killings of Civil Servants At The Government House Lafia

Ayuba Wagba, the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress has carpeted the General Manager of the state owned media outfit, Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS) for the killings of civil servants at the gate of Government House Lafia.

Comrade Wagba hinted this when the national body of NLC visits the state as part of effort to end the four weeks impasse between the state government and workers over fifty percent salary cut, the leadership of NLC apportioned blame on the General Manager, Yusuf Musa for high handedness.

“The action of the G.M of NBS flamed the gory scenario which led to the killings of civil servants by the Police, as he said the knocking down of policeman by Yusuf Musa generated tension “.

He however said the knocking down of a Police officer foisted the Police to open fire sporadically as he maintained that Police seized the key of a car belonging to civil servant.

Ayuba Wagba urged the State Governor to reverse his policy of fifty percent salary cut,saying workers are at the receiving end with the rising spate of food price in the country.as he said the slash in salary is not for the best interest of workers in the state.

The NLC President attributed the hiccups of the national new minimum wage implemented by Al-Makura to lack of consideration accorded relativity, adding that absence of premise to relativity in the implementation of minimum wage remains the gap yet to be filled.

He also appealed to the State Governor to set up an investigate panel to unveiled those behind the brutal murder killings of innocent civil servants in the state.

The state governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura commiserated with the NLC over the demise of its member, Aliyu Abdullahi Ombugadu, a Staff of Ministry of Education, as well those that sustained degrees of bullet wounds.

Al-Makura pleaded with the labour leaders to accept the downward review of workers salary in good fate as he attributed the present predicament to the dwindling allocation accrued to the state.

The governor explained that N2.3bn goes to workers salary leaving the larger population with meager resource, saying he would not continue to be a paymaster while education, water, employment and amongst other categories of people in the state suffers neglect.

“I’m not occupying this position to pay workers salary alone but rather the larger population have to feel the impact of our administration, for that I will not be like a paymaster”.

The governor turn down the collective bargain plea of the labour leaders, saying he will not sign an agreement with NLC with the daily drop in workers’ salary, speaking on the killing perpetrated by the Police ,the state governor promised to investigate the root cause of the deaths.
