General John Sura Tasks Citizens Of Plateau On Peaceful Coexistence

Yakubu Busari

A Retired Brig. General John Sunday Sura has described the unity of one Nigeria as sacrosanct that can’t be compromised with unity adding that as a nation we can achieve meaningful development and attract more investors to exploit our mineral deposits across the length and breadth of the country.

General Sura stated this in an interview with our medium in Mangu LGA of Plateau state on Sunday.

He said our forefathers set the stage for us by promoting peaceful coexistence amongst them when they welcomed the missionary into Mwaghavul land and they’re beneficiaries of the gospel.

We appreciate God Almighty for the opportunity given to us and we are now transferring this knowledge to the next generation to emulate same.

The 100 celebration of the Mwaghavul Bible translation centenary story is a sign of unity and progress in COCIN because the Mwaghavul became the first President and we have set a pace for other tribes to follow, he added.

General John Sunday also emphasized the infrastructure decay and the challenges of insecurity that bedeviled the state of Plateau and Nigeria.

According to him, as an aspirant under the platform of the People Democratic Party, PDP, he has the passion to unite the people of Plateau state if given the mandate to govern the state.

Sura disclosed that with the desire to deliver his electioneering campaign promises, he urged the Mwaghavul people to make the choice of those with a pedigree to revamp back our moribund industries.

We have what is called infrastructural deficit steering us in the state so what I intend to do is to remedy the plight because we are not being heard like other States in the national discord so I was to put Plateau state on the map of Nigeria.

He maintained that Plateau state was a wonderful state in the 80s and more united but today’s crisis has eluded us and our unity is shattered with no investors coming to invest here.

General Sunday noted that Plateau won’t regret voting me we shall all come together to fight a common enemy and focus on physical and human development by harnessing the dwindling economy.
