Gbong Gwom Jos declares Nzem Berom Festival Open , Seeks FG, State To End Insecurity & Insurgency

The Gbong Gwom Jos Da Jacob Gyang Buba has declared the 2024 Nzem Berom annual festival opened by calling on the sons and daughters of the land to welcome all Nigerians as they celebrate the Nzem Berom festival and his 15 Years on the throne by thanking God for the protection of lives and properties of his people in the mixed of insurgency.

Jacob Gyang Buba made this disclosure during the Nzem Berom annual festival and celebration of his 15 years as Gbong Gwom Jos.

He said the main aim of the annual festival of Nzem Berom festival was to inculcate the discipline and hardworking people of the Berom people including the rich culture and their historical background.

According to him, we celebrate this year Nzem Berom made it low key in the state due to the recent attacks and killings of innocent people who were brutally murdered by insurgents and dead of Gwan Kabong , Rtd Justice Sha where a minute silence was observed.

We deliberately hold the annual festival on a low key to remind our distractors and killers who embark on this dastardly act of killing and plan to take over our land that, we shall continue to protect and pray to God who gives us the land to guide and intervene.

He explained further that about 1000 years ago when the children of God almighty held the ambition of building, especially those that wanted to build a tower of Babel were dispatched to different locals and languages that is today known as the only way that God provided the land to all the ethnic groups in the world so we desire to handover to our children and grandchildren including great-grandchildren.

Gbong Gwom Jos assured the Plateau State and Federal Government of Nigeria of his willingness to cooperate with the authorities concerned to find a solution to the end of killing and mayhem in North-Central Nigeria.

Jacob Gyang Buba assured of the return of a peaceful Nigeria enjoyed in the 60s to allow the restoration of peaceful coexistence amongst all the ethnic nationalities in Nigeria.

” As a traditional Institution, we are ready to work with the security agencies to safeguard farmers to produce enough food to end hunger because the price of foodstuffs in the market keeps increasing indiscriminately due to the challenges of insecurity as he appealed that Security should top the list of government program and projects.

” Jacob emphasized peaceful coexistence amongst all tribes and religious leaders in Nigeria and the land owners of minorities should not be occupied by foreigners.

” He promised to set up a committee to look into the bordering dispute between the natives with a well-defined ideology to put an end to lingering land grabbers parading as land owners “.

Gbong Gwom Jos called on the Plateau State Government to work hand in hand with the traditional rulers to resolve the internal conflict of land dispute in all the 17 LGAs including Berom land which is the area to restore peaceful coexistence.

We are striving toward improving the welfare of the citizens of the state but this can work when the government sets up a comprehensive reform on the land grabbers.

He urged all Nigerians to continue to respect our laws and tradition of the state and a bid to it respectively when he speaks on the legacy of funds raising to provide job opportunities to our teeming graduates and Youths.

Jacob Gyang Buba disclosed his desire to improve the skills and academic prowess of the state to benefit beyond by calling on sons and daughters of the land to donate towards a structure as made known.
