FUTO Geology Dept. Class Of 2001 Holds Reunion Party 20 Years After

More than 300 Degree Holders after 20 years of graduation from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO, School of Physical Sciences, Geology Department ( 2001- 2006 Set), was on last preferred Saturday, Oct.30th, 2021, successfully held their maiden Reunion Party in Owerri, Imo State.

 

The event which took place at Rockview Hotel Owerri attracted so many respected persons who successfully left FUTO under the academic platform  Geology 20 years ago.

 

The Reunion Party under the aegis of “Geobillionaires 15th Year Reunion 2021”.

 

With a high level of merrymaking, jubilation, and excitement, the Geobillionaires joyfully exchanged pleasantries with their old-time classmates, relatives, and friends, even as some of them based abroad graced the reunion party in Owerri.

 

In their duo, 10 minutes presentations,  Prof.Samuel Onyekuru, of the Department of Geology, FUTO, Owerri, and the Dean of School of Physical Sciences, (SOPS) FUTO, Prof.Chukwuemeka Akaolisa, KSJI, respectively, boasted to have mentored the FUTO Degree Holders of Geology Department of FUTO.

 

The twofold university dons, Prof. Onyekuru and Prof.Akaolisa, in their respective contributions, encouraged all the Geobillionaires for upholding their 15th-year reunion 2021.

 

Prof.Akaolisa revealed that since his 21 years in FUTO, he has for the first time witnessed wonderful kinds of Geologists under the coordination of Class 2001 Set.

 

The two most senior ranking academic excellencies, however, charged the Geobillionaires who graduated from the Geology Department of FUTO 2001 Set to always remember their Alma Mater and think of the positive impact to the University and to the society.

 

One of the committee members, Precious Nwaoha (Dr. Pee), who spoke to newsmen for the interest of Class 2001 Set, and for all committee members, expressed delight for the successful celebration.

 

He, therefore, thanked all the members of the committee, such as Helen (KK),

Cheta Okoye, Ndukwe,  Reg Amadi, Ejike Nwokemodo, Aligbe Simeon, Uju Opara, IK Okafor, Kelvin Okonma, Precious  Nwaoha (Dr. Pee) for their instrumentality towards the success of the event.

 

Speaking to newsmen, further on the Reunion Party Celebration 2021, Dr.Precious Chidi Nwaoha, (Dr.Pee), expressed satisfaction with the heights of successes and breakthroughs so far recorded amongst members of the Class 2001 Set of FUTO Geology Department over 21 years ago.

 

“We are giving back to the university and to the society as part of our social responsibility. We are reunited after 15 to 20 years of our graduation from FUTO. We are so happy and excited to be reunited as Geobillionaires. We have enrolled in FUTO 21 years ago. It has not been easy after our graduation, but thank God for keeping us together and intact. Though so many are gone we are delighted to be alive. We are celebrating our 15 years Reunion as graduates of Geology, FUTO. Hopefully, but next year,2022, we shall begin to award more scholarships to some students from year-1 to year-5.

 

As an Association of Ex-Students of Geology FUTO, we have human resource challenges. We represented the Class Set of the 2001 FUTO Geology Department. We have awarded scholarships to two best of Geology. Let’s keep reuniting. Gods willing, we are giving back to our Alma Mater and to society as part of our solidarity. FUTO trained us and we are working to leverage the young ones in the University especially from the Geology Department of FUTO”, Nwaoha submitted.

 

The Coordinator, Nwaoha, while speaking, congratulated some of the Geobillionaires from home, abroad, and from across the world.

 

 

 

Dr. Nwaoha, therefore, saluted some members of the set for making the reunion party successful.

 

Others are: “Amadi Obi Reginald Nkem, (Regg) based in Portharcourt, Kelvin Chiweta Okonwa(KecDee), Mr. Simeon Aligbe, aka Senator, based in Abuja, Ujunwa Umoffia( Nee Opara), John Onwuemeka, based in Canada, and Uchenna Nkemka (Raheem) amongst the members of the Geobillionaires.

 

Adding his voice, a Geobillionaire, Mr..Simeon Aligbe (Senator), expressed delight for the successful 2021 Reunion Party Celebration and called on members to uphold the tempo of progressive unionism.

Aligbe, who is an Oil/Gas Financial Consultant, expressed optimism that the 2022 edition of the Reunion Geology Department-Class 2001 Set shall be greater and successful.

 

Highlights of the reunion party were the presentation by a Geobillionaire on a trending topic, Scholarship Presentation of a year 2 and year 3 students of Geology, Department of FUTO Owerri, Presentation of their checks, dancing, sharing of souvenirs, and cutting of the Geobillionaires customized cake.

 

Meanwhile, the two students who benefited from the Geobillionaires’ scholarship scheme as Geology  Students of FUTO are:  Master Emmanuel U. Anochie, 200 level, and Master Michael M. Emeh, 300 level, collectively extolled the leadership of 2001-2006 Set of Geology FUTO for their passion towards their education.

 

He thanked the members of Geobillionaires for encouraging their academic pursuits, even as they promised not to disappoint the union.
