Heavy catastrophe occurred on Wednesday,Nov.21st 2018 in Owerri capital city of Imo State, as a final year student of Computer Science at the Imo State University,IMSU, Miss Jennifer Agumou, aged 21 years, allegedly committed suicide after she stabbed her boyfriend who was simply identified as Johnson from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO.
Information gathered from eyewitnesses disclosed that the IMSU young girl ( student) who stabbed her FUTO boyfriend (student) over an undisclosed issue rushed and drank a liquid substance supposed to be poison when she felt that the guy died during their rift.
As gathered, the incident happened in one of the hostels around the Aladinma Alliance area of the school.
Meanwhile, while confirming the incident, the Imo State University Public Relations Officer, Obi Njoku, said that the school was in a state of confusion over the “irritating news.”
Speaking Njoku, who wondered at the gravity of disagreement between a man and a woman that would make a young girl to take her own life, advised students to pay less attention to frivolities and “marry their books.”
The IMSU spokesperson revealed that the institution would investigate to find out what actually happened.
As at the time of going to the press, the name and department of the survived FUTO student could not be established, while the FUTO undergraduate who survived the stab was immediately rushed to the hospital.
